Overview

A campaign is an email which can be distributed to many users.

The following sections describe major campaign features. This will help you to understand how to create, send, control sending duplication and removal of targets. Also, to set various camapign options. 

 

 

How to Access your campaign

After logging in, a window with all exisitng campaigns apears.

Click on the appropriate campaign name. 

 

 

How to Fill out the Campaign Content

The fields of the "email header parameters" section corresponde to those you normally find in the standard mailer program. 

 

The email message can be text or html . 

 

You can add unlimited number of attachements by clicking on the "browse" button in the "files to attach" section.  After selecting the appropriate files, click on the "Save Attachements" button.

 

 

How to Perform Mail Merge.

Mail merge allows you to insert certain variables into your email message or email subject.

Place the field name enclosed by <% %> in the appropriate place in your email. 

For example: 

 

   Dear <%title%> <%last_name%>  

 

For each sent email, the above two variables will be replaced by the corresponding values extracted from the relevant email entry in the list.

How to use Click Through Tracking

In order to activate the click through feature on any link in a campaign, delimit the given link with: "<%link" and "%>".

For instance, if your orignal link is: www.new-object.com 
you need to change it to:  <%link www.new-object.com%>

Then you can proceed with the normall campaign sending procedure . 

In order to view the click through report of a specific campaign, click on the "View Click Through Report" tab located at the top of the campaign menue. 

In order to view the click through report of all the campaigns, click on the "View Click Through Report" tab located on the left window. 

 

 

How to use Audience Targeting

In the Campaign form, go to the Audience Targeting section . 


Select your query parameters from the relevant drop-down menues. 


You can view the results of the query by clicking on the "" tab located at the top of the window. 

 

 

 

How to Add and Delete Targets from your campaign

In the campaign window, press the "add" button to add new targets. 

Similarly, press the "remove" button to remove targets. 

In both cases, follow the prompts (as explained in "creating your first camapign").

 

 

How to Controll Duplication

Each campaign can have three lists assiciated with it.These are: "Target List", "Already Sent List" and "Remove list".  The "already sent list" is automatically updates with email addresses which have been successfully sent.  

Each time the campaing is sent, only email addresses in the target list that do not apear in the "already sent list" will be used.

In case duplication is intended, simply remove the relevant email addresses from the "already sent list".    

 

 

How to Associate a List to a Campaign 

In the campaign window, go to the "list" section.

From each of the drop-down menus, select an appropriate list. An empty entry can be selected which will indicate that this campaign is not associated with this type of list. For example, if an empty entry is selected for "already sent list", successfully sent emails will not be added to that list type (duplicate emails will be sent).  

 

The selected lists can be modified (entries added or deleted) by clicking the "edit" button next to the appropriate drop-down menu. Lists can be shared accross many campaigns.

  

 

How to Limit the Number of Email Messages Sent.

In the campaign window go to "campaign information" section. 

Specify the maximum number of emails to be send in the "stop sending after" field.

This option should be used in large list in order to send a portion of the emails avaiable at a time. 

 

 

How to Send Simulation of Your Campaign.

In order verify your camapign, go to "campaign information" section. 

Specify your email address in the "Send Simulation To" field, then press the "Send Simulation" button. You should recieve an email on the account specify above.  

 

 

How to Preview Your Campaign.

In the campaign window click on the "Preview" button.   

 

 

How to View Campaign Results.

In the campaign window click on the "log" button.

 

 

How to View Current Targets (Emails Yet to be Sent).

In the campaign window click on the "view targets" button.   

 

 

How to View Targets Already Sent.

In the campaign window click on the "view already sent" button.   

 

 

How to Send Your Campaign .

In the campaign window click on the "send campaign" button.
